Overview of research program

Professor Parent has been leading a research program in epidemiology at Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS), a university dedicated to graduate level training and research, since 2000.

Her research program focuses on cancer epidemiology, with the aim of uncovering risk factors and providing evidence for prevention. She leads PROtEuS (Prostate Cancer & Environment Study), a large population-based case-control study entailing a comprehensive assessment of the role of occupational, environmental, lifestyle and genetic factors. Unique aspects include the lifetime exposure assessment to workplace chemicals and integration of spatially-distributed environmental factors.
